its been a while

the past week or so has been quite a whirlwind, we had a couple days off in between the "AC slay tour" and the "Why so serious?" tour, the first which ended in Atlanta and the latter starting in san Antonio. decent sized drive ,not too bad , but spending a day ad half in Biloxi,Miss is enough to drive anyone insane. We got pretty luck and made our trek through the south just in between hurricane gustav and hurricane Ike, although we told everyone that asked what we were doing with a big van and trailer that we were storm chasers, strangely enough every single person believed us. I think i might rather be storm chaser than be playing in a band, dont get me wrong i love to play music every night but how sick would it be to chase around tornado and hurricanes, a little more thrilling than loading in to a venue and finding the coolest thrift shop in town. Some good friends from seattle in a band called "This providence" are with us, like i said before, it makes tour life so much better when theres a bunch of dudes you can count on and have a great time with. My online english class is kinda wack, i need to step my game up, my teacher has been emailing me tellin all sorts of gibrish but then expecting assignment, whatever, i got it down. We spent the last 2 days in colorado after a solid 6 hours on the side of the road waiting for some dude to come fix our spare trailer tire, i feel a certain connection with interstate 76 now. Good food and family, some hiking up in boulder canyon , cant really ask for much more than that. Apparently were getting a new van when we go home in like a week and half. oh yea, we get to go home for like 3 days, sooo stoked. and i cant wait for a new van. ill put pictures up later.

so good its that time again

where the playaz play

such lame titles for my blogs but its true, ATL is hood. Were staying at my friends house down the street from bankhead, if you dont know what bankhead is do your reasearch son. This is kind of a wrap up blog for the last week of the "AC SLAY TOUR" and no i didnt make up that name, but you can imagine how stoked i was to be spending the better part of a month driving around the east coast with 4 bands with such a calling. The last week was spend mostly in the south, North Carolina, Florida and Georgia. The south is awesome for a few days then i get burnt out, this is probably because we still have no AC in the van and i lose 5 pounds of water weight everytime we drive somewhere. Orlando and tampa were rad shows, while in tampa we got to hang at the fueled by ramen warehouse and raid it for everything its worth, probably somewhere near 100 t shirts, 20 hoodies and a ton of accesories later we made our way out of florida like bandits. Made some new friends and cruised around ybor city, also known as "Gaybor" no joke, its apparently the gay capitol florida and was quite and interesting area once midnight rolled around. The creepy dude who thinks hes peter pan lives there, if that explains anything. We Made the drive to atlanta over night after the tampa show, i woke up early because my body doesnt let me sleep in, walked out of the van to get some fresh air and right in front of me was a holiday inn express, start to take notes if youre looking into the life of being a gypsy because i got all the free breakfast hot spots on lockdown, gimme a holla. A few waffles, fruit, yogurt and some orange juice and i was out, made our way to atlanta and spend the good majority of the day in the perimeter mall hanging out in brookstone on the massage chairs and tempur pedic beds. i need a tempurpedic bed asap. Atlanta show was sweet, the masquerade which is the venue that we played is an old massive steel mill and apparently its haunted, i didnt see anything but whatever. It was the last night of tour and such a bummer at that, im gonna miss all the dudes that became such close friends over the past couple weeks, theyre people you rely on to get by day by day, you dont have your friends or family from home, they become those people, friends that will stay friends forever, as lame as that sounds. So here i am, hanging at josh from joy in tomorrows house, working on my english homework, taking naps and about to watch the VMAs, we head to mississippi tomorrow for a hotel on the beach again. rough life, MY mom asked me what im learning our here on tour, its kind of hard to just spout off when asked such a question, but my mind doesnt stop spinning, learning about life and everything around me.A couple days off then start tour with our friends this providence a band called the cab and hey monday. im looking forward to heading west.

see you soon

FLO RIDA

shawty get low low lowww. Jacksonville, Florida, the beach was nice , its been quite a while since ive spent some quality time with the atlantic and it felt better than ever. Apparently there was 2 or 3 hurricanes heading our way the past couple days but it looks like its going to miss us, a little bummed because a bit of me wanted to experience a hurricane in real life but at the same time its probably better cause were still alive and we get to play orlando tonight and stay in a sweet disney world hotel. Ive never been to disney world and i dont think im going today but a hotel with a 40 foot water slide sounds like a party to me. Touring With a rocket to the moon is quite different than the old days with lydia, ive almost been gone a month and when i look back it seems like a long time but its going by so quick, we stay busy and it keeps my mind off other things like home, friends and family. I think weve hit a jackpot with candlewood suites, the sweetest hotel yet, it comes with a 2 room suite and a rad food bar downstairs that fills my belly at any time of the day, what a great place. home away from home if you ask me. Its too hot here and our ac works terribly but whatever, we'll be out of here in no time and back out west, it will still be hot but i miss the west. I would put up pictures but the camera needs charged, tomorrow or the next day.

A Rocket To The Moon #2 from Loren Brinton on Vimeo.

North Carolina

Greensboro,NC to be exact, my boy ryan adams is from this wonderful state, i think i appreciate it a little more just for that, and for that reason i just spun jacksonville city nights all the way through . We made a pretty hefty drive to get here last night from long island,  the stock, 2 dudes knock out a decent amount of the night then  sleep, wake up , scavenge free breakfast from some hotel  and start the drive again,  10 +  hour drives start to get a little old after a while. I picked up a couple new snowboard videos and came across some dvds to help pass the time, Big fish is good, i feel like i saw it before but didnt really give it the attention it deserved. Im supposed to be working on my online english class but my kind mother accidentally sent me the wrong book for the class, so im going to try to find one on the campus here in town today, wish me luck.  Oh yea me and eric went to fuddruckers last night to put some fat back in us after our hour long workout in the hotel gym earlier.  not down with hamburgers anymore. We miss ricky, he was our merch guy for the past 2 weeks and such a good dude, he had to go back to college to pursue real life things, as for me, i get to pretend im peter pan. lost boys for ever

So i was saying how much i love sleeping in hotels and enjoying the comforts of home on the road, but somehow i still find myself sleeping in the van or on the floor of the hotel room quite often, which is strange but its what i do. Both the Penn State and Poughkeepsie shows were alot of fun, the dudes in both fireworks and Hit the lights have become great friends of all of ours and every night is just good times and good homeys.  We did enough stage diving, crowd surfing, party hopping random frat parties and eating dollar slices of pizza to hold me over for a couple days, atleast we have a day off in braintree today. Nicks mom made us breakfast and im trying to figure out my books for my online classes, such a pain but stoked to have the day to chill before we head off to long island tomorrow. Our AC has been out for the past week or so but we have been lapping the northeast basically so it hasnt been a big deal, we head south this next week the out west, so its getting fixed now.... i hope.  I miss AZ, too many good people there that i havent seen in forever. here are some pictures from the past couple days.

tour

soo booyah films blog is turning into my own personal blog while im on the road. I dont think anyone reads this but for whoever does/is going to, I am back out on tour playing music with a band from boston called " A Rocket To The Moon" .  good times, good dudes. i think i have to do a journal every day for my online english class, so ill probably be throwing it up on here just to keep track of things. We are currently hanging out in a sweet hotel in state college, pennsylvania.  Its things like a shower and a nice place to sleep and some wifi that you take for granted until you live in a van for 4 months at a time. We have a show on the penn state campus tonight then off to poughkeepsie, Ny in the morning.  Here are some pictures from the past couple weeks.
